Chiara Palazzolo

 

Chiara Palazzolo recently completed her second postdoctoral fellowship at the Honors College of the University of Tulsa (USA), with a focus on ethics and music. Prior to this, she held a postdoctoral position at Roma Tre University. She earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy, funded through a joint program between the University of Rome Tor Vergata and Roma Tre University. Her forthcoming book, Musik als Berufung: Berufsethik des klassischen Musikers (Music as Vocation: The Professional Ethics of the Classical Musician), will be published by Brill. Since 2018, she has been a teaching assistant in moral philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Roma Tre University. In addition to her academic pursuits, Chiara is a professional soprano, having graduated from the Conservatory of Parma (Italy). Alongside her musical training, she obtained both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Parma. She has delivered lectures at institutions such as Harvard University, the University of Oxford, Boston College, University of Tulsa, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, and the University of Neuchâtel among others. Her current research delves into the philosophy and psychology of musical learning, exploring its impact on the cultivation of virtuous character and its implications for musical agency.
