Federica Berdini

 

Federica Berdini is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Ethics, University of Toronto. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bologna in 2017. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting fellow at Harvard University and the University of Vienna. In 2018 she was awarded the American Philosophical Association’s Journal of Value Inquiry Prize for her paper “Agency’s Constitutive Normativity: An Elucidation”. Prior to her current position, Federica was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Éthique in Montréal and at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Her main research interests are in the philosophy of action, ethics, philosophical and moral psychology, and feminist and social philosophy. A proud co-founder of the Italian Society for Women in Philosophy (SWIP Italia) and member of its first Executive Board, Federica helped establish and coordinate the SWIP Italia Mentoring Program.
